The 5750 square foot residence has a spectacular view of the Roaring Fork River. The design takes full advantage of the view and is oriented up the river as it takes a dramatic turn just in front of the house.

Being so close to the river creates some obvious design opportunites as well as challenges. The building envelope was limited due to setbacks and a three story house was the solution. This gave every major room and living space view of the river. Carefully placed decks and balconies provide outdoor living spaces, were not only the view but sounds of the river and abundant wildlife can be enjoyed. The house had to be engineered with the water in mind and careful analysis made of the river and the different flood stages. Final landscaping along the river is taking place and will blend in wiht nature.
