The Firm.
Johannsson Architects, Inc. builds on over 20 years of experience in the Architecture and Construction industries in both Europe and North America. We were incorporated in 2000 and our main office is located in Aspen Colorado.
Our projects are diverse and include residential, commercial and hospitality designs. For the last few years most of our work has been in the Colorado Rocky Mountain area New Mexico and Utah but our international presence and activity has increased dramatically in the last few years. We have recently added a satellite office in Iceland and will be doing the same in St. Thomas US Virgin Islands in the next few months. With our affiliations and connections in the design, construction and real estate on multiple continents, we are now able to take on even larger and more diverse projects. Our company will design projects almost anywhere and local state licenses will be applied for as needed.
Mission.
Our mission is to help our clients achieve their project goals, by designing buildings that fit the client’s needs, the site and context in an aesthetically pleasing way.
Architecture.
We never force an architectural style on a project. We believe each project deserves a fresh look and new approach when appropriate, as can be seen from the many architectural styles represented in our work.
Sustainability.
Sustainability or "green" design is always an important factor in our Architectural approach. We use resource efficient materials where practical, along with energy saving methods in our designs and have been doing so since green was just a color. Taking advantage of passive design is often the most cost effective way to achieve energy savings. We encourage the use of innovative and environmentally friendly energy systems such as solar and geothermal power and have used some very large systems in our projects.
