This private residence is located on a hill on Red Mountain Road and has a great southern exposure and a direct uninterrupted view of Aspen Mountain. The main spaces are oriented to take advantage of this magnificent setting.
Although still within the city limits of Aspen the house has a country estate feel to it as it enjoys wide open spaces and mature trees. Both Conundrum and Roaring Fork river are a stone throw away to the north and west.
The house design draws heavily from Chateau style Architecture with some rustic elements mixed in. Some of the building forms have stone finish and the others stucco. This helps to brake up the massing of the building.
Stone was also carried to the interior where it forms a stone arch between the great room and kitchen area.
The zoning allowed for some significant sub grade area and this is utilized for media room, family room, exercise room along with other support spaces. |
